(AWG) Code of Conduct Updated May 2004
Cheating
1. No use of cheats or game altering programming what so ever. This shall now include name editors as well. Some certain Mod’s will be allowed but do need to be cleared with command staff as some Mod’s do have game play altering programming which will not be allowed. Mod’s like Desert Combat and the like are perfectly fine. While online gaming only 2 programs should be running. One being our comm?s and the other being the game itself. Any and all violations of this rule are an automatic dismissal from team (AWG).
2. No use of in game bugs such as glitching will be used. The general rule in the past is that as long as any player can do the same thing while in game play it is perfectly fine. That rule still stands for things such as climbing a ladder and using that height to jump onto something else. That is still perfectly fine and expected since anyone with some general knowledge of the game or maps will know the same. What is not accepted is lying in roof tops and disappearing into an object. All violations of this will be examined by the (AWG) command staff and dealt with case by case.
Honor
1. No use of foul or excessive language or any degrading dialog. This shall also include the use of bs, bfs, fu, and stfu. Some exceptions are expected in case of minor foul words. “Shit” is permitted but beyond that degree is not. Also no excessive lag testing. If you want to lag test do it with the “Y” key and only do it once in a while. Nothing shows more disrespect to someone with constant TTTTTTTTT’s up on the screen.
2. Always show public & fellow team?s full respect and honor. This does not mean that any (AWG) are not allowed to defend themselves or the team. We always will in event of verbal attack or blatant cheating and will more than likely should things get dirty say some things that are not the norm for the team. However we will not abuse this exception only use it in last resort.
3. All (AWG) players will wear the team tag at end of their name when they are able. Since Novalogic changed the name policy we now have lost our ( ). Due to this we will wear -AWG- as the tag for Novalogic games when needed. However while in battle for matches or scrims we will wear battle tags which will not have the team tag as to make the players name as short as possible. Example 2112(AWG) would be =2= while wearing his battle tag.
4. Above all we have been at this since 1998 and plan on doing it a lot longer. So set an example to the rest of the community and show pride with honor. Never brag or degrade as everyone has their day and help those that are new to the game.
5. Respect your fellow (AWG) teammates. We are all over 21 and have both men and women on the team. I would ask that all (AWG) remember that sometimes what is ok for men to talk about on our team comm’s is not always proper for women to hear. I for one think it is very cool when we have women gamers and as rare as that is I would ask all to treat them just like they would in real life and that?s with a certain amount of respect.
Servers
1. All (AWG) servers will not allow any of the rules above to be broken
2. No intentional use of any map glitches or jump proning. Some of the DFLW maps run by (AWG) do offer air drops and landing in tops of towers is not allowed. Any building or object that one can get into and not be shot is glitching and that player will be punted and if continues will be banned.
3. All public entering our team server/ servers will be asked to follow the same rules. All will get one warning for language. 2nd offense you will be punted. 3rd you will be banned for life.
4. Any and all cheaters will also be banned without any warning what so ever. We will always make 100% sure before doing so by entering game on that persons color and watching them for verification of the offense. Verification means we will get proof of offense at least 3 separate times before banning the person.
5. No recruiting on our servers from other teams at any time. We would not do it on yours and simply ask the same respect from you. We reserve the right to recruit on our own servers and stat games only. Anyone breaking this rule will be warned one time only and punted next. If they continue to break this rule we will ban you.
6. Any team or public player who does notice any offenses should contact the command staff and report what you have seen. Also please try and provide screen shots to support your case should the event ever happen.
7. Any and all maps made by 2112(AWG) or any other member maps shall not be changed or altered by anyone. We spend a lot of time making fun maps for everyone and also offer the download of these so that others may enjoy them as well. Please respect our work and above all enjoy playing on them.
Team
1. Any member who needs to take a leave of absence from more than 1 full month away needs to let the command staff know and to make a posting in forums. Taking a leave is more than fine and expected but we just want to be informed.
2. Any member who signs up for an upcoming match needs to be there 100%. If there is any doubt if you can make a match than don’t sign but do sign up as a reserve.
3. When entering into a match you must be wear your battle tag and once you have completed loading should introduce yourself with your full name to the server. Example: =2=: <——–2112(AWG) hello all.
4. All members must be 21 years or older period. We now will no longer make any exceptions to this rule.
5. All members shall only play for this team per title. As an example Fathertime(AWG) plays Raven Shield for another team and that is fine only because that other team does not play Novalogic games any longer. If they did than it would not be ok. If you?re playing a Novalogic game while wearing another team tag once in a while you will be removed from this team.
6. Promotions are voted on by the present command staff. We will try and keep the ratio of commanders to squad members in check. Right now were commander heavy and will set it in the future to 1 commander per 10 members.
7. All issues with members will be resolved internally. Do not make them public such as in forum postings and place them behind closed doors in the team only forums where the commanders and the parties involved can work things out.
8. Anyone who decides to leave the team would be asked to please let a commander know or make a forum posting. We have no issue with anyone who might want to go somewhere else. But we do ask that you at least let us know.
Forums
1. All (AWG) and the general public will not be allowed to use excissive language in our forums. We will allow some minor cursing to be posted. Anything posted with the “F” word will be moderated by Sgt. Rock(AWG) and anything else he deems as crossing a line. Words like shit will be allowed.
2. Pornographic pictures will also not be allowed as we do have female members and want to respect them as well as set a good example to the public. This shall be defined as showing a breast or privates being in the said picture.
3. Dirty jokes will be allowed as we do have a Joke section of the forums. All goes here minus once again the “F” or any pictures showing anyone nude.
2112(AWG) & command staff does watch all of the members and tries to catch anyone who would play with dishonor. Both to keep the (AWG) name in the great standing that is has and out of true respect for all we play against. We are a team devoted to the Art of War Gaming and have no need to alter our games in any manner to achieve a win. We always welcome an honest loss as it always makes us stronger.
This code of conduct can be updated to reflect some of our new titles that we have gone to.
